Asian Pumpkin Spice Gelatin

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup cold water (for blooming gelatin)
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • Whipped cream for garnish
  • Additional pumpkin spice for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Bloom the gelatin in 1/4 cup of cold water. Set aside.
  2. Combine pumpkin puree, water, sugar, and pumpkin spice in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is well combined. Remove from heat.
  3. Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm pumpkin mixture and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  4. Pour the mixture into a glass dish. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until set, about 2-3 hours.
  5. Once set, garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice before serving.
